LCviz is a light curve visualization tool built on top of Jdaviz and lightkurve. It has a convenient UI for many common lightkurve functions, like generating periodograms, binning, and stitching together light curves. And now, it comes pre-installed on our cloud platform, TIKE, now with a newly designed landing page! There's no need to install or configure anything yourself; as of the release of the 2025.01 software image, LCviz is fully integrated into the platform.
In addition to making the software available on TIKE, the team has added a notebook that showcases its functionality. This can be found in the "notebooks/lcviz-tutorial" directory. The tutorial uses a star with a known exoplanet, HAT-P-11, to show how straightforward LCviz is to use. After querying for a matching observation, the file is read directly into memory and plotted: there's no waiting for a download to complete. The tutorial then shows how to flatten and phase fold a light curve, two of the most common steps in an initial light curve analysis. Running the code cells in the notebook will activate the various LCviz plugins, and update the interface displaying the light curves. Everything accomplished through code can also be done by interacting with the interface.
