Updated HLSPs for July

  • The BOSZ Synthetic Stellar Spectral Library (Mészáros et al. 2024) has a new release. The spectra are based on ATLAS9-APOGEE and MARCS model atmospheres. There are 628,620 total spectra, from 50 nm to 32 microns at resolutions from 500 up to 600,000, including line identifiers. This new 2024 version supercedes the legacy 2017 version.
  • QLP "quick look" calibrated light curves from TESS full frame images for Sector 74 are now available at MAST. This Sector adds 911,640 targets derived from 200 second cadence FFIs.
  • REFERENCE-ATLASES: This delivery updates both the STIS and the model files for 55 stars. A previous delivery had BOSZ 2017 model files with wavelengths in air rather than in vacuum. This error is corrected, and the latest models from BOSZ 2024 are used.
  • TICA, which offers quick-look, calibrated TESS full frame images, has added data from the following sectors:
    • Sector 80 - complete
    • Sector 81, Orbit 1A
three graphs show the parameter space of BOSZ 2024. descriptions of each figure are in the caption below

Top panel:

Middle panel: [α/M] as a function of [M/H]

Bottom Panel: [C/M] as a function of [M/H]. There are 336 chemical composition combinations, each with 322 MARCS and 173 ATLAS9 model atmospheres. Star density from APOGEE DR17 (Abdurro'uf et. al 2022) is represented as a heat map in the background, showing that the selected parameters cover most of the stars that are observed in the Milky Way.
