Scientific Results From HUT

Because HUT's primary purpose was to open a new "window" of the spectrum for general observation, the scientific programs that have been carried out with the telescope are truly wide-ranging. The telescope has been used to observe objects as diverse as planets in our own solar system, individual and binary stars, star clusters, gaseous nebulae, normal and active galaxies, and even the enigmatic quasars (the most distant objects in the Universe!).

The links from this page provide you with a sampling of these results at a non-technical level. For more detailed information, refer to the many technical publications that have resulted from our analyses of the data. (See links provided below.) We will add new results as they become available.
