HUT Quick Look Spectral Atlases for Astro-1 and Astro-2
By clicking on the items below, you can see examples of
HUT spectra of various types of astronomical objects. Each spectrum is
labeled and contains a brief caption describing the object being
observed. Below the examples are listings that provide summary information and
access to quick look spectra from all objects observed during the Astro-1 (Dec.
1990) and Astro-2 (Mar. 1995) missions, ordered by object name.
Click on either of these items to get a listing of all objects observed
during the Astro-1 and Astro-2 missions. Clicking on highlighted items in these lists
will show you the spectral data in Postscript format. These can be
downloaded for future reference if desired. For Astro-1 data, total and "night
only" spectra, which are generally of higher quality, are
available. For Astro-2 data, day, night, and total observations are available
with separate clicks.
PLEASE NOTE: These data are provided by the HUT team only as a convenience
to the community, and are intended primarily to provide insight into the data
quality available. However, they have been produced by a standardized process
and may not reflect the best that can be done with individualized processing.
Much more information, including the raw data, "day" and "night" sections of all
observation separately, 5-minute time
slices, etc., are all available from the archived data sets through the
National
Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center.
