Introduction
SOUSA is a project to reprocess all Swift supernova data using Breeveld et al. (2012) zeropoints and applying time-dependent sensitivity correction on the same system. Data were originally retrieved from the HEASARC Swift archive, searched on a given supernova's position to ensure all images of the field are obtained, independent of target identification number. A total of 253 supernova are included in this archive, each with multiple UVOT filters. The image portion of SOUSA is hosted here on MAST. The light curves are available on the external team page, linked to above. AcknowledgmentsSuggestion of text to add to "Observations" section of papers that use SOUSA data:
This supernova was also observed in the UV with the Ultra-Violet/Optical Telescope (UVOT; Roming et al. (2005)) on the Swift spacecraft (Gehrels et al. 2004). The UV photometry was obtained from the Swift Optical/Ultraviolet Supernova Archive (SOUSA; https://archive.stsci.edu/prepds/sousa/; Brown et al. 2014). The reduction is based on that of Brown et al. (2009), including subtraction of the host galaxy count rates and uses the revised UV zeropoints and time-dependent sensitivity from Breeveld et al. (2011).
And in the "Acknowledgements" section:
This work made use of Swift/UVOT data reduced by P. J. Brown and released in the Swift Optical/Ultraviolet Supernova Archive (SOUSA). SOUSA is supported by NASA's Astrophysics Data Analysis Program through grant NNX13AF35G.
Data Products
Each supernova's files are stored in a subdirectory based on the supernova's ID, for example, "sn2015i". The target table below includes all of the supernova names. Inside each subdirectory there are two types of FITS files for each observed filter. The files all have the same file name syntax, given by:
hlsp_sousa_swift_uvot_<targname>[-tempsum]_<filter>_<ver>_img.fits.gz
where <targname> is the supernova ID in the table below, and <filter> is the UVOT filter used, which can be any of {bb, m2, uu, vv, w1, w2}, corresponding to the following filter names listed elsewhere: {b, uvm2, u, v, uvw1, uvw2}, and <ver> is the version number of the file, for example, "v1.0" or "v2.0".
Data AccessLinks in the host galaxy column will take you to the NED page for that object, if one exists. "IMG" links will download the summed image that contains the supernova for that filter. "TEMP" links will download the summed image for the template observations, which contain the host galaxy without the supernova. In some rare cases, the supernova was not observed in all the filters, but a template image is made for all available filters regardless. Some targets have supernova "IMG" summed images but are lacking the template "TEMP" summed images: those are expected to be gradually included as the observations and data are processed by the SOUSA team.
