7.1 Locating Missing or Questionable Quality Data Points

Interruptions in the spacecraft telemetry or other problems during reading of an IUE image can result in missing or questionable quality data being present in the spectral image. In addition, severe microphonics contamination can occur in LWR spectra. The approximate locations of missing or contaminated data can be found by running

MISDAT,'IMAGET',ORDER

where ``ORDER'' is the order number for the wavelength range of interest (1 for low dispersion, 60-120 for high dispersion). This currently works only for IUESIPS data.

There is a ``widget'' version of MISDAT for users with windowing workstations. The calling sequence is

W_MISDAT,'IMAGET'

If IMAGET is not a string, it will be treated as a dummy argument. You can interactively select a file to examine with this procedure.
