NGC 7331 (UGC 12113, 2234+3409)

NGC 7331 (UGC 12113, 2234+3409) -- This bright Sb galaxy has the optical spectrum of a ``transition object'' between a LINER and an H II nucleus (Ho et al. 1996a). The UV image shows a faint but strongly peaked diffuse light ditribution, and some additional emission on the eastern edge of the field.
