NGC 1512 (0402-4329) -- The circumnuclear star-forming ring seen in the UV image of this SBb galaxy is studied in detail by Maoz et al. (1996); ~40% of the UV light comes from compact young star clusters distributed along the ring. About 25% of the UV light is from the single bright ``super star cluster'' on the south-east side, which has an observed UV luminosity L (2300 Å)~ 1037 ergs s-1 Å-1 and a radius of only 2--3 pc. |
