A galaxy with elliptical morphology, elongated
north-south. The image shows two companions: one bright unresolved
source less than one arcsecond south of the nucleus, and the other one
to the north. 3C 79 shows a complex morphology in the optical, with no
compact nucleus [de Koff et al.1996].
