1.1.2 NEWSIPS File Names

For NEWSIPS data, the filename consists of the camera and the image sequence number only, with the file type and dispersion included in the extension. There is no aperture information in NEWSIPS file names--double aperture spectra are not stored in separate files. Therefore imaget will refer to the file name including the extension for this data. For example, the low dispersion extracted data for SWP12345 would be stored in file ``SWP12345.MXLO'' (and ``SWP12345.MXLO'' would also be its imaget).

Table 1.3: NEWSIPS Filename Extensions
Extension Description
RILO Raw image, low dispersion.
RIHI Raw image, high dispersion.
LILO Linearized image, low dispersion.
LIHI Linearized image, high dispersion.
SILO Resampled image, low dispersion.
SIHI Resampled image, high dispersion.
MXLO Extracted spectrum, low dispersion.
MXHI Extracted spectrum, high dispersion.
