5.1 Surviving at GSFC

During your stay at GSFC, you will be able to use a desk in room G53, next door to the Telescope Operations Center. The number of the telephone in that office is (301) 286-3924. You may receive mail in care of:

The GSFC cafeteria is located in the same building as the IUE Science Operations Center, but is closed on weekends and holidays. Its hours of operation are adjusted from time to time. Currently the weekday schedule is

Breakfast: 7:15 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.
Continental Breakfast: 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.
Lunch: 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.

To help provide for those intervals when the cafeteria is closed, the Observatory has a refrigerator and microwave oven in room G69. Please help keep these units clean.

Smoking is not permitted in Building 21, including the TOC.

You might consider leaving the phone number of your motel with the RA or TO so that they may be able to contact you if necessary.
