INFORMAL ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER FOR THE EUVE SCIENCE PAYLOAD
----------------------------------------------------------------
Volume 1, Number 3 September, 1991
----------------------------------------------------------------
Status of the EUVE Science Payload
----------------------------------
The EUVE science payload is being prepared to be delivered to the
Explorer Platform for integrated tests at the end of September.
One of the scanner pressure relief valves is leaking, and plans
are being made to replace it.
The major activities over the last month have been simulations of
mission operations and the data analysis functions to check out
the software and management systems. Initial analysis of the
simulation results is encouraging. In particular the data pro-
cessing pipeline is meeting its processing time requirements.
Status of the EUVE Spacecraft
-----------------------------
The launch date is December 12, 1991. The Explorer Platform has
begun its thermal vacuum testing. The critical path remains the
deployable antenna which will be reworked prior to launch.
