IUE White Dwarf Spectral Atlas Moves Into New Home
06/24/13
- An atlas of IUE Echelle spectra for 55 white dwarfs was created by Jay Holberg and collaborators (Holberg, Barstow & Sion 1998, ApJS, 119, 207).
The atlas has been copied over to MAST and some work done to update the format. See the online news article for more details and go to the IUE WD Spectral Atlas HLSP page to access the data and the interactive plotting tool.

Updated Guidelines for submission of High Level Science Products
06/04/13
- MAST has updated contribution guidelines for high-level science products (HLSP). HLSP contributed by teams of astronomers are very popular and downloaded frequently. To see those sets already archived see the listing of HLSP sets. This page also has a means for searching for types of products, wavelength, and object type.

Faster Display of Large HTML Tables
05/20/13
- The MAST search interface has been updated to speed the display HTML tables with large search results. Tables with thousands of rows will display a factor of 2 to 5 times faster than before. This speedup only affects search results using the HTML_Table output format.
If you notice that the page with your search results is blank, that's probably a sign that your web browser has cached an old version of the Javascript used to display the table. Try reloading the search results page to force the Javascript to be updated. This should only be necessary once (if at all).

Hopkins Ultraviolet Telescope (HUT) UV spectra reprocessed.
03/27/13
- Hopkins Ultraviolet Telescope (HUT) UV spectra have been reprocessed with a final version of the pipeline and are now available at MAST. The spectra are stored in VO-compliant FITS files, where the base data format is now a time-tagged photon list, but extracted spectra are also available. Check out our News Article (below) for full details.
HUT flew on two space shuttle missions in Dec. 1990 and March 1995. It observed several hundred objects ranging from Solar System to stellar to extragalactic sources, primarily using its first spectral order (825-1850 Ang at 3 Ang resolution). See the News update for more information. An example of one of the new quick-look plots
